Gerard Foley, Vice President, Post Acute Care

Gerard J. Foley is Covenant Health’s Senior Vice President and President for Post-Acute Care.  He also serves as President of Covenant Health Systems, Inc., our ministerial public juridic person (PJP).  This is our organizational entity that is responsible to the Vatican for the mission and ministries entrusted to us.

Gerry brings to this position not only deep Catholic roots and personal experiences, but also a long association with Covenant Health.  He is a skilled healthcare professional.  Prior to joining the corporate office, Gerry served as President/CEO of Mary Immaculate Health/Care Services for 5 years.  His previous experience also includes tenure as CEO of Kindred Hospital Boston North Shore and as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Lawrence General Hospital. He holds a JD from Suffolk University Law School, a Master of Public Health from Yale University School of Medicine and a BA in Philosophy from the College of the Holy Cross. 

In addition to his Covenant work, in 2018, Gerry assumed leadership for the Northeastern USA Lieutenancy of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.  This Order is a lay institution placed under the protection of the Holy See. Its main aim is to strengthen among its members the practice of Christian life, and to sustain and aid the charitable, cultural and social works and institutions of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land.  Mr. Foley also serves on Boards of parish and professional organizations.
