Jennifer Newburger Joins Covenant Health as Its New Vice President of Quality Improvement and Safety


Jennifer NewburgerToday, Covenant Health welcomed Jennifer Newburger as its new Vice President of Quality Improvement and Safety. Jennifer will provide leadership and direction to system-wide quality and safety programs, which specifically focus on the continuous improvement of quality of care; patient/resident safety and satisfaction; as well as overall efficiency. She will also lead our efforts towards high-reliability in our Journey to Excellence strategic initiative.

She’ll work collaboratively with senior management and other leaders at both the corporate and local levels, to design and implement operational strategies and tactics to support the highest possible quality and best safety practices for our patients and residents,” said Douglas C. I’m confident she’ll advance our efforts.”

Prior to joining Covenant Health, Newburger was the Corporate Director of Quality Management at New York City Health and Hospitals in New York, New York where she oversaw quality management, performance improvement, risk management, regulatory, patient safety and patient experience programs for Post-Acute Care Operations. Prior to that, she was Chief of Quality Management at Northport Veteran Administration Medical Center in Northport, New York. 

Newburger earned her Master of Science in Health Education from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York and a Bachelor of Art in Sociology from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She also attended Beth Israel Nursing School in New York, New York and is a registered nurse. In addition, Newburger is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) as well as a current member of the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) and American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
