The Service Member Patriot Award recognizes employers’ efforts to support reservists in a wide variety of ways including offering them flexible schedules, providing time off around deployments, granting leaves of absence as needed and even helping to care for their family members.

“St. Mary’s is part of Covenant Health whose progressive policies go the extra mile to fully support Military reservists and their families,” remarked Peter Holden, Interim President, St. Mary's Health System.

“I nominated Robert Kirouac, Ron Vachon and Scott Young for this award because I am truly appreciative of how supportive they have been of my guard service,” said, Richard Lussier, Painter, St. Mary’s Health System.

“I’ve been a volunteer with ESGR in Maine for almost 20 years. In that time, I’ve never had five managers, from the same employer, nominated for Patriot Awards,” shared Matthew Collins, Employer Outreach Director, ESGR. “Covenant Health and St. Mary’s are exceptional employers and we appreciate their patriotic commitment to those who sacrifice and serve.”
