Stephen Forney, Chief Financial OfficerTewksbury, MA – September 17, 2019 – Covenant Health is pleased to welcome Stephen Forney, MBA and CPA, as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this role, Stephen will provide the financial leadership and oversight needed to ensure Covenant Health achieves its financial goals. More specifically, he’ll have responsibility for strategic, fiduciary and operational activities including accounting, treasury, planning, budgeting and financial reporting.

“Stephen is an experienced and highly-skilled executive,” said Stephen J. Grubbs, President and CEO. “His financial expertise and discipline will be a tremendous asset to our Corporate Leadership Team and entire system.”

Forney brings to this position 30+ years of experience in healthcare finance/operations across acute, post-acute, physician practice and pre-hospital settings, with a focus on operational improvement. His most recent roles included being CFO of the Chinese Hospital Association in San Francisco, CA; CFO at System Operations for Prospect Medical Holdings in Los Angeles, CA; CFO at Verity Health System in Redwood Shores, CA and Vice President & CFO of Ardent Health Services/Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM.

Forney earned both his undergraduate and Master of Business Administration from Saint Leo College in St. Leo, Florida. He is a licensed certified public accountant; a certified global management accountant; a fellow of both the American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Financial Management Association. He is also board-certified by the Medical Group Management Association.
